Peridot is the gem variety of the mineral olivine and often occurs in volcanic rocks called basalts. This peridot comes from Arizona, at the only U.S. mine not part of an Indian reservation.
Known as the stone of compassion, peridot is believed to bring good health, restful sleep, and peace to relationships.
